Typically, this international qualification is delivered through a one-day training course lasting 7 hours.
The topics covered include understand the hazards and risks associated with a fire and identifying the common causes of a fire in the workplace. The components of the fire triangle and how fire can spread and understanding of the hazards during or after a fire, including the products of combustion. How fire risk is controlled in the workplace by using the steps within a fire risk assessment to reduce the likelihood of a fire and improve safety within the workplace.
The methods of fire detection and raising the alarm along with identifying different types and uses of fire-fighting equipment and the ways of escaping from a fire.
