The objective of this qualification is to equip individuals currently employed or seeking employment in the food industry with the essential knowledge and skills needed to produce safe food. This international qualification would be typically delivered through a 1-day training course (6 hours). Participants who earn this qualification will understand that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking, service, and handling of food. They will also recognize the importance of maintaining best practices to ensure the production of safe food.
The Level 2 qualification completed as a 6 hour course covering contamination hazards (microbiological, physical, chemical and allergen) and there controls, personal hygiene, cleaning and disinfection along with understanding pest controls.
It is aimed at teaching employees who handle food the importance of food safety and the knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved in producing safe food. Employees will have the knowledge to deliver safe food from purchase to service for the customers.
