Retail is one of the largest sectors in the UK and continuously seeks employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in this dynamic and demanding environment. The Highfield Level 1 Certificate in Retail Knowledge (RQF) has been created to equip learners aspiring to enter the retail sector with the understanding and expertise that employers desire. This qualification has guided learning hour with the tutor and is portfolio based and requires assignments to be submitted along with oral and written questions to be completed. These will be submitted to the Tutor for marking. This is ideal for those looking for their first retail role or gaining foundation knowledge of retail practices or who wish to start their careers as checkout operators or sales assistants. This also provides a pathway for learners to pursue higher-level retail qualifications upon completion.
The Certificate qualification is made up of 2 groups of units, the first has 6 Mandatory Units (Unit credits 11) with the second contains 5 Optional units.
All 6 Mandatory units need to be completed with 1 or 2 Optional units depending on unit credit value. A total of 13 Unit Credits required to Complete the Qualification.

2. Understanding the control, handling and replenishment of stock in a retail business,
3. Understanding how a retail business maintains health, safety and security on its premises,
4. Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business,
